A good project fascinates me and a good cause empowers me. I have a background in User Experience Design, Industrial Design, and Mechanical Engineering. I love exploratory user research, thinking through the big picture purpose and solution to a problem, and the conceptual design phase.

Designing for ease of use. During a summer in college that I worked in the oilfield watching Roustabouts, mostly giant men, trying to fix equipment by cramming their large hands into tiny spaces - I became a fierce protector of the users of things. My fire for human-centered design was sparked.

Designing for experience. Years later, I witnessed how the intentional design of an installation space could invoke a holistic sensory experience so subtle that your mind was left grasping at what had happened - I became a believer in the complexity of thought behind the simplicity of experience. My fascination for the elegance of subtly was stirred.

I’ve been working in the field of User Experience Design since 2004, balancing the skills of research and design. At The Boeing Company from 2004 to 2015, I designed enterprise software experiences as well as commercial mobile applications for airline pilots. At Autodesk I’ve been designing experiences for R&D concepts and research prototypes leveraging generative design, AI, and VR since 2015.

Supporting and empowering others brings me profound joy. I fulfill that passion through things like teaching the Research Scientists on my team how to conduct and analyze user interviews to ensure we are always learning from our customers, creating a Meetup for the users of generative design at Autodesk to learn from one another, being an active member of the Autodesk Women’s Network and the Autodesk Black Network as an ally, and volunteering every week in my community.
